The tester is used to measure the performance of seat belt mechanisms in extreme temperature conditions. In the thermal chamber, there are three drawers, each holding 12 modules with an electric motor. The modules are connected to a control unit. Each socket is equipped with two inductive sensors. These sensors allow us to monitor the motor’s speed and determine its rotation direction. We can also lock a socket to test how the module behaves under load with the motor’s rotation disabled. All communication is handled via the CAN protocol. The testing is automated, sockets are customizable, and the temperature range for testing spans from -40 to +80 degrees Celsius.
